Twenty years of experience - but still not A corny old mAn
This all started when Joe (that's me!) and two good friends were sophomores in high school, raising money for our high school radio station by DJing elementary school dances. After a few kids' parents asked us to do birthday parties, we bought some equipment, burned a bunch of CDs (thank you Napster), and entertained countless 12-year-olds... It didn't take long to realize that weddings are more fun than kids' birthday parties.
Since DJing our first wedding at the age of sixteen, I have developed a passion to help people have a good time without losing the classy feel of an evening. Some DJ services have a large pool of DJs who get assigned to events, but when you hire PBJ, you get the one and only me (pictured below) handling your event from the initial consultation through the last song of the night.

I enjoy being a wedding DJ because I simply love to entertain people. There is something very cool about helping create a memorable event on the best day of someone's life. I try to take a moment at every event, when the dance floor is full of people, to walk around and just watch. Seeing people have fun is what it's all about.
As someone who loves music, DJing is a great way to overcome an incredible lack of musical or singing talent. Every event is unique, so finding the perfect songs to really fit each crowd is something I take way too seriously - but I enjoy the challenge. I have lived in Indy my whole life (save for a few years at Ball State). I am a big Colts and Pacers fan, enjoy poker, pickup basketball, and nerdy sci-fi movies and books. My lovely wife and I have two young DJs-in-training, and a rescue dog named Pepper. |
